ROAD MAP TO AfWA 2010: STC- MEETING

THEME: “Improving water and sanitation services with focus on equity”.
NWSC was privileged to host Science and Technical Council meeting at Munyonyo common wealth Resort in Kampala beginning from the 23rd to the 26th November 2009.
The three day congress began on Monday the 23rd of November with Dr.Muhairwe`s opening remarks as the chairperson of the congress, this was followed by the former President`s speech Mr.Mamadou Dia , the board chairperson , the minister of water and environment also our honoured guest then followed with their speeches which officially marked the beginning of the congress.
The days following were mainly comprised of several speeches and presentations from representatives of various countries with focus on the congress theme .The congress also discussed the outcomes of the prior meetings held in various countries, the road map to the forth coming AfWA congress 2010 and deliberations on the future of AfWA as an association.
Guests were given a tour around the country on the 26th of November and on the same day a board meeting was convened to conclude the voting process for the new First president of AfWA,
Dr. Silver Mugisha .
The meeting was officially closed on the 25Th of November.
